Family Support Services
Through Say Yes Buffalo’s partnership with the Erie County Department of Social Services and the Buffalo Public Schools, skilled and experienced professionals with the title of Family Support Specialist are stationed within Buffalo schools to support families.
Our preventive services team works to:
Support students and their families in addressing the underlying issues affecting student attendance, behavior and academics
Strengthen the family’s relationship with the school and the resources available within the school
Remove/reduce safety issues with children
Provide students and families with access to services to address basic needs
Connect the student and/or family to school and community-based services and supports including healthcare, mental health services, after school programs and assistance with obtaining basic needs
