How to Apply for Financial Aid
Create your FSA ID
Both students and their parent/guardian must create their own FSA IDs. Create your FSA ID.
Apply for the FAFSA
See below for the information you will need to complete this form. Apply for FAFSA.
Apply for TAP
Once you complete the FAFSA, you should be prompted to click and apply for TAP. If not, follow the link here.
If you are an undocumented student, click here to apply for TAP under the DREAM Act.
Complete the Say Yes scholarship Application/Registration

How to Check the Status of Your Financial Aid Application
Log in to your Say Yes account
Log in here. Your username is the email used to create your account and if you forgot your password click on “Forgot your Password” or email buffaloscholarship@sayyesbuffalo.org.
Do you need help?
If you need help completing your FAFSA/TAP/Say Yes applications and paperwork, or need to check on the status of applications or paperwork you may have already completed, this is the place!
Class of 2027, you can get support by contacting your school counselor, Stacy Rankin at srankin@sayyesbuffalo.org, or signing up for a session with a College Access Specialist.
What You Will Need to Apply
Valid Email Address for both student and parent/guardian
Social Security Numbers for student, and parent(s) if applicable
Parents birth dates and dates of marriage/divorce if applicable
Permanent resident card (if you have one) or Alien Registration Number if applicable
2025 Tax return (federal & state)/ record from two years prior for 2027-2028 school year
W2 or documentation of money earned from other sources
Siblings names/social security numbers if enrolled full-time in college also
NYS ID number (Driver License number)
